I could start everyday with a latte and avocado toast. It is my current breakfast obsession and I am sure the day will come, when I will long for something else, but right now, that day is no where in sight! While this is simple to construct, it does take a little pre-planning. The key is having fresh bread and a perfectly ripe avocado! Starting with the avocado, if your market doesn’t have “eat now” fruit, be sure to buy a couple and then place them in a brown paper bag on your counter to ripen for a couple days before eating (FreshDirect actually includes a ripening bag with every order!). When ripe, lightly mash the avocado in a small bowl with a fork. The next thing you need is good bread. I prefer a demi baguette or medium size italian crusty bread. Slice diagonally so slices fit perfectly in your toaster. After a light toasting, scoop the avocado on to the bread. Next, I add a drizzle of high quality olive oil. Then sprinkle with Hamptons Finishing Salt. You can also customize it by adding sliced grape tomatoes, or sunflower seeds. If you need a little kick in the morning, you can also sprinkle some of our Ghost Pepper Salt, but just a few crystals as it is crazy hot!
